This is supposed to be an opera blog, but we are getting pretty far afield.
Alison Krauss does mostly scooping and sliding with some very cute ornamenting in certain pieces. Not the kind Mariah Carey is doing, just lovely little turns and stuff like that. She ornaments by connecting two notes with all the ones in between, discreet notes, not slides. The musicians scoop and slide in the same style.
Alison Krauss has the advantage of total immersion in her style. There is no substitute for this. Style is the key for everyone.
