I find I must comment. The SF Guardian actually called the Olympia in Hoffmann "tightly-wound," intending that to be a criticism. You have to be kidding.
In case this criticism made no sense to you, achieving a tightly-wound performance of Olympia is generally considered the goal. She is, after all, a wind up toy.
