Of course I am only aware of a Das Lied von der Erde that's for tenor and MEZZO.

Yes, I know, and it frequently is. I never go when this happens. As a former mezzo, I don't like it when men take our parts. I never go to Fledermaus when a man sings Orlovsky, e.g. I would probably make an exception for Jonas.
